TXOGA Looks Forward to Continued Work With TexNet On Seismicity With Passage of HB 632 Into Law

AUSTIN – Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association, issued the following statement following the signing into law of HB 632, which recreates in statute the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee within the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology:

“The Texas oil and natural gas industry looks forward to continuing our collaborative work on seismicity issues with industry peers, TexNet and CISR. We believe that more data is always better, and with the continuance of the TexNet Technical Advisory Committee within the University of Texas Bureau of Economic Geology, industry will continue to monitor and share data and gather information that guides industry practices. The Texas oil and natural gas industry is supportive of the work TexNet and CISR are doing and will continue to work with academia and others to ensure continued safe operations.”
