HOUSTON, Texas—Today, innovation within the oil and natural gas industry took center stage at the Energy Elevated Technology Showcase in Houston, hosted by the Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA).
“America is a nation where new ideas and new technologies are not only welcomed and celebrated, but it is a land where new technologies that improve our lives are rewarded and embraced,” said TXOGA President Todd Staples. “TXOGA created Energy Elevated to showcase the latest and greatest ideas coming out of the energy sector, because modern-day oil and gas companies are innovation and technology incubators. The innovators gathered at this year’s Energy Elevated Showcase are reshaping how our industry operates and creating new possibilities to reliably and affordably meet daily power needs.”
Brad Johnson, co-founder and reporter with Texas Bullpen, served as the guest commentator for the event.
Chevron, ConocoPhillips, Valero, Devon Energy, Occidental Petroleum, Ovintiv, Inc., Repsol, Apex Natural Gas, Archrock, CITGO, EOG Resources, Murphy Oil, Texas Mutual, and TXOGA Insurance Agency sponsored the Energy Elevated showcase.
BACKGROUND ON PRESENTERS AT THE ENERGY ELEVATED SHOWCASE:
AQUAFORTUS: (Most Innovative Winner)
Aquafortus developed ABX™, a non-thermal, solvent-based desalination technology that treats hypersaline produced water for a fraction of the cost of thermal and membrane alternatives. Aquafortus is working directly with oil and natural gas majors in the Permian Basin to deploy Mobile Demonstration Units and validate ABX on real produced water streams, building a practical, scalable solution to one of the industry’s most pressing operational challenges.
BAKER HUGHES:
Baker Hughes is a global energy technology company that provides solutions for oil and gas production, industrial operations, and energy transition initiatives. Its Onshore Composite Pipe portfolio, including PythonPipe™ and Thermoflex® solutions, offers corrosion-resistant, flexible piping systems designed for the transportation of oil, gas, water, and other industrial fluids.
NOV:
NOV delivers technology-driven solutions to empower the global energy industry. For more than 150 years, NOV has pioneered innovations that enable its customers to safely and efficiently produce abundant energy while minimizing environmental impact.
PIPESENSE:
PipeSense provides advanced pipeline leak detection and monitoring solutions for liquid and gas pipeline systems. Their technologies combine high-resolution sensing, real-time data acquisition, pipeline operating data, and advanced analytics to improve the speed, sensitivity, and reliability of leak detection. By delivering greater visibility into pipeline performance, PipeSense helps operators strengthen pipeline integrity, reduce operational and environmental risk, and improve the safety and reliability of critical energy infrastructure.
SAFETY RADAR:
Safety Radar, based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, builds SAFE AI, an AI-powered safety platform built for oil and gas operators who need to catch hazards before they turn into incidents, not just document them after the fact. SAFE AI puts data collection, analysis, communication, and investigation on one platform that turns years of incident reports and near misses into predictive intelligence.
UES PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: (Audience Favorite Winner)
UES Professional Services assists in the installation of groundwater monitoring wells, soil and groundwater sampling, remediation system installation, microbe and chemical oxidation injections, excavations, and project management within the oil and natural gas industry.
UES is a national engineering and consulting firm that combines the responsiveness and market knowledge of respected local companies with the technical depth and resources of a nationwide organization. Across Texas, UES operates from 14 offices with more than 800 employees, supported by a national network of 4,200+ professionals across 100+ locations.
