TXOGA’s Affordable Healthcare and Workers Compensation Options for Members Helps Texas Oil and Natural Gas Companies Keep Texas Strong

AUSTIN, TEXAS – As the strength of American energy security and leadership becomes even more important as global events evolve, the Texas Oil and Gas Association (TXOGA) Association Health Plan (AHP) and Workers Compensation Safety Group continue to deliver strong value to small oil and natural gas companies across Texas.

“Our goal is to enable companies to continue to produce the power that powers modern life. In accomplishing this task, the Texas oil and natural gas industry remains deeply committed to safety as a core value even as companies work overtime to maintain energy security amongst global unrest,” said TXOGA President Todd Staples. “Programs such as the Association Health Plan and Workers’ Compensation Safety Group help ensure Texas’ energy sector remains safe, thriving, and strong. Companies continue to rise to the challenge because this industry prioritizes protecting our people while delivering for Texas and the nation.”

Developed in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX), TXOGA’s AHP gives small businesses and their employees access to quality health care coverage with plan options designed to fit a range of budgets while maintaining access to trusted physicians and providers. In the nearly five years since its launch, the TXOGA AHP has helped small employers throughout the state of Texas offer comprehensive plans to employees and their families.

The AHP supplements TXOGA’s Workers’ Compensation Safety Group program, which provides participating TXOGA members with a variety of top-tier training, resources, and incentives. The program is provided through Texas Mutual, Texas’ leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance. In addition to training and resources, the program has returned over $50 million in dividends to eligible companies over the years since 2001, including $1.65 million this year, providing meaningful rewards for the hard work Safety Group members put into preventing incidents and protecting team members.

Both of these insurance options are available today to eligible businesses seeking to enhance employee benefits offerings. To learn more, visit www.txogainsurance.com.

About TXOGA’s Association Health Plan

The TXOGA AHP is available to qualifying businesses with 2 to 50 total employees that are headquartered in Texas, are members of TXOGA, and are aligned with the oil and natural gas industry. Available in all 254 Texas counties, the AHP offers eligible member companies access to 11 medical plan options, including PPO, HSA, and HMO choices, and the application process does not require individual or medical underwriting.

Additional benefits include competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with access to the employee benefits administration portal, SIMON®, which enables employers and brokers to manage enrollment, membership, and billing anytime, anywhere, and from any device.

About the TXOGA Workers’ Compensation Safety Group

TXOGA’s Workers’ Compensation Safety Group is available to qualifying businesses that are members of TXOGA, rewarding policyholders who demonstrate a proactive dedication to safety through premium discounts and dividend payments. The program provides premium discounts, free safety training through TXOGA Safety Talks, and access to comprehensive resources covering driving safety, struck-by prevention, chemical handling, rig inspections, and more. TXOGA members participating in the Workers’ Compensation Safety Group also receive customized support from Texas Mutual’s safety services team.

In May, TXOGA’s Workers’ Compensation Safety Group announced that member companies have earned a collective $1.65 million in safety group dividends from Texas Mutual Insurance Company. The dividend recognizes the group’s continued strong performance and commitment to maintaining a low loss ratio through rigorous workplace safety practices.

These Safety Group dividends are separate from Texas Mutual’s general policyholder dividends. This summer, Texas Mutual is distributing $19.27 million in general dividends to qualifying policyholders in the TXOGA Safety Group. Texas Mutual is distributing $300 million in general dividends to qualifying policyholders this year and has distributed over $5.1 billion in total dividends since 1999. Dividends are based on performance, are not guaranteed, and must comply with Texas Department of Insurance rules.

Founded in 1919, TXOGA is the oldest and largest oil and natural gas trade association in Texas, representing every facet of the industry.
