Concho Chairman and CEO, Tim Leach, Honored with
TXOGA’s Distinguished Service Award

The Woodlands, TX – Tim Leach, chairman and CEO of Concho Resources Inc., today received the 2017 Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Oil & Gas Association at the Lone Star Energy Forum in The Woodlands, Texas.

The evening’s speakers included the Honorable Scott Pruitt, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator, the Honorable Kent Hance, former U.S. Congressman and Texas Railroad Commissioner, and Trevor Rees-Jones, CEO of Chief Oil and Gas.

“The Distinguished Service Award is one of the oldest and most prestigious honors bestowed on members of our industry,” said Trevor Rees-Jones, chairman of Chief Oil and Gas and chairman of the Distinguished Service Award Committee. “Every year since 1936, we have honored select colleagues to recognize their extraordinary contributions to the oil and natural gas industry and to the nation. The list of 80-plus recipients of this award reads like a historical ‘who’s who’ in oil and natural gas and we are proud to add Tim Leach to those ranks.”

Headquartered in Midland, Texas, Concho Resources Inc. is an independent exploration and production company that has grown tremendously under Mr. Leach’s leadership.  Over the past 10 years, Concho’s employee count, production, acreage position and activity have grown tremendously, making the company the tenth largest producer in the industry and the largest pure-play operator in the Permian Basin.

“Tim Leach exemplifies the dedication, drive and commitment to innovation that form the heart of the oil and natural gas industry,” said Todd Staples, TXOGA president. “Individuals like Tim serve our state and our nation by leading with distinction so that the oil and natural gas industry can continue to secure our economy, our environment and our future.”
