A Career for a Lifetime

Many are surprised to hear that women make up only 19% of the oil and natural gas industry’s workforce – but this number is rapidly rising. In 2013, women filled approximately 46% of open industry jobs roles in the oil and natural gas workforce.

The oil and natural gas industry offers women broad opportunities including higher salaries and benefits. Over the next 20 years more than a million oil and natural gas jobs are forecasted to open in the United States. And the different fields are endless:

  • Geoscience
  • Public Relations and Communications
  • Engineering
  • Operations
  • Superintendents
  • Managers and Vice Presidents

As the oil and natural gas industry increases to diversify in Texas, companies are looking to hire individuals from all types of education and experience and provide them solid career paths. By Texas schools investing heavily in STEM technology education programs, students will have the gained skills to enter the industry directly upon completing studies – and have the opportunity to continue the benefits gained throughout their career and lives.
