TXOGA Statement on EPA Approval of the State of Texas’ Request for NPDES Program Authorization

January 15, 2021

The following can be attributed to Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil and Gas Association:

“The EPA’s approval of the State of Texas’ request for NPDES program authorization will allow the Texas oil and natural gas industry to continue to innovate and find new ways to treat wastewater for recycle and use beyond the oil field. TCEQ has the experience and dedicated resources in Texas to be in the best position to monitor and ensure compliance of oil and natural gas discharges with federal and state permit requirements. We applaud the meticulous work of EPA and TCEQ on this issue.”
