TXOGA on API Joining the Collaborative Recommended Lighting Practices

December 6, 2018

AUSTIN – Participants include TXOGA, Permian Basin Petroleum Association, API and McDonald Observatory

The following can be attributed to Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association:

“The terrific news of the American Petroleum Institute joining the Texas Oil and Gas Association, the Permian Basin Petroleum Association, and the McDonald Observatory is one more example of the deep commitment of our industry to improve Texas. Our joint Recommended Lighting Practices report lays out best practices for operators in West Texas so that they can continue production while protecting the environment and preserving the dark skies that are vital to the McDonald Observatory’s important work. It is the responsibility of all of us to seek creative and efficient ways to protect our state’s great landscape, and initiatives like this show that much good can be accomplished when we work together to develop solutions.”
