Texas Oil & Gas Association Response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Stay of the Clean Power Plan

The following can be attributed to Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s stay of the Clean Power Plan.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to immediately halt the Clean Power Plan is a powerful reminder that executive overreach cannot go unchecked.  As Texans, we know it is possible to protect the environment, grow the economy and create jobs with policies that serve people, not political agendas.  We’re hopeful that the Supreme Court’s stay will get federal regulators out of the business of politicking.  Now, more than ever, our nation needs a strong economy – including a healthy oil and natural gas industry – that is bolstered by policies that protect the environment, our economy and our energy security.
