<title>TXOGA’S MEDIA PRESENCE SHAPES COVERAGE OF ISSUES THAT MATTER</title>
					  <link>http://www.txoga.org/articles/6278/1/TXOGA%92S-MEDIA-PRESENCE-SHAPES-COVERAGE-OF-ISSUES-THAT-MATTER</link>
<description>More and more news outlets across the country are turning to the Texas Oil &amp; Gas Association as the authority on oil and gas issues, not only in Texas but as part of the national dialogue about energy. TXOGA has parlayed the Association’s involvement in various issues – including challenges with the Environmental Protection Agency, possible endangered species listings, and state-specific issues like hydraulic fracturing fluid disclosure -- into headlines nationwide. In recent years, TXOGA has dramatically expanded its proactive media relations operation, resulting in scores of media placements in Texas and beyond. TXOGA has established productive relationships with energy reporters from the state’s major daily newspapers as well as reporters in secondary markets where oil and gas producers have a significant impact in those communities. The effort has generated consistent coverage in the Austin American-Statesman, San Antonio Express-News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, Midland Reporter-Telegram, Beaumont Enterprise, Odessa American, Texas Energy Report and the Texas Tribune. TXOGA has also facilitated interviews with local, national and international broadcast outlets including local news stations in Austin and Dallas, statewide radio networks, and Bloomberg News. TXOGA is regularly quoted in oil and gas trade publications like Platts Gas Daily and increasingly, in major out-of-state publications like the New York Times and the Philadelphia Inquirer. Coverage includes prominently featured quotes, on-camera appearances, published opinions and letters to the editor. TXOGA media presence is enriched by the Association’s stable of experts who can speak to legislative, regulatory, environmental, and tax issues. Especially during legislative sessions, these experts help to shape news coverage of issues that matter to TXOGA’s members.
